Q. Will you place ads on my site? A. We will NOT place ads on your site. Q. Do you allow sites to advertise for money, on their web site? A. Yes, we allow sites to have commercial advertisements. Q. What forms of payment do you accept? A. We accept personal or business checks and money orders. We bill our customers by invoice via US Postal Mail Service. Hosting services are prepaid quarterly on the first day of the month prior to each calendar quarter due by the end of the month (within 30 days). All other services may be billed on the first of each month when the total amount due exceeds a predetermined amount or the charges may be carried over to the following month billing cycle. Q. Are your server's Unix, or NT? A. Our servers are Linux Red Hat 7.3. and Red Hat 9.0. Our experiences proved Linux to be much more stable (error-free), affordable, faster, and software compatible than NT software and hardware. Q. Do you allow adult sites? A. No, we do not allow adult sites or any other type of site that would offend or discriminate others. Q. Is tax included with my monthly or yearly plan? A. Yes, tax is included in the price of all of our fees or charges. Q. What control panel do you use and do you have a demo? A. The control panel we use is called Plesk 7.5 Reloaded: Plesk 7.5 Reloaded Control Panel Documentation. Yes, you may host your friend's website(s) with their own ftp, email, and login and password. Q. How long does it take to setup my account? A. Your account can be setup within as little as 15 minutes after ordering your hosting services. Q. Are there any hidden costs, or setup fees? A. No, there are no other costs and there are no setup fees for hosting services. Q. Do you offer telnet or shell access? A. We do not offer telnet access due to security reasons, but we do offer shell access. In addition, you are able to unzip files on the server using our file manager as well as the ability to setup cron jobs when permission is granted. Q. Can I password protect directories? A. Yes, you can password protect your directories using your Plesk control panel.
Q. How long does it take to get my domain working? A. It usually takes 24-48 hours for a new domain to fully propagate, depending on your domain name registrar. If you use our registrar, a domain is usually propagated the same day. If you are transferring your hosting services to us, a domain is usually propagated within an hour. Q. What do I set my domains name servers to? A. Please read your welcome e-mail. If you have lost your welcome email, you can email us requesting your dns settings.
Q. Do you have a manual for our control panel? A. Yes, the control panel we use is called Plesk 7.5 Reloaded: Plesk 7.5 Reloaded Control Panel Documentation (plesk-7.5r-domain-users-guide.pdf). Q. Where do I go to login to my control panel? A. For security reasons, please contact us for your Plesk control panel login and password url. Then, enter your domainname.com and password to login to your Plesk control panel. Q. How do I create a sub-domain(s)? A. To create a sub-domain, login to your Plesk control panel and click "Domain Management". Within Domain Management, you will see how to manage and add sub-domains.
Q. Where can I download a free FTP? A. We highly recommend CuteFTP by: http://www.globalscape.com/. Another good option is WS_FTP by: http://www.ipswitch.com/. You can also use the "File Manager" within your Plesk control panel. Q. It's not letting me upload my files what's wrong? A. Make sure you are uploading to the correct web directory which is the /httpdocs folder. If you are connecting to the root directory, you will see the /httpdocs folder which is where you want to upload your website files. You can set your FTP Default Remote Directory to /httpdocs to connect to the /httpdocs folder when connecting. Q. Why doesn't my ftp password change when I change my FTP password within the control panel? A. Please allow a few hours for your FTP password to sync with your control panel password.

Q. How do I create email accounts? A. To create an email account, login to your Plesk control panel and click the "Mail Services" icon. Q. What do I put for both incoming and outgoing mail server? A. For both incoming and outgoing mail servers, enter mail.yourdomain.com. Q. Where do I go to check my email using my browser (webmail)? A. We use Horde Webmail. Click on the "Mail Services" icon, then click on the email account, then click the "Webmail" icon within your Plesk control panel or type http://webmail.yourdomain.com into your browser address bar. At the login page, enter your user name as username@yourdomain.com and password. "Webmail" must be enabled in "Mail Preferences" within your Plesk control panel. Q. How can I setup webmail to go directly to Horde? A. Type http://webmail.yourdomain.com into your browser address bar opposed to clicking on the "Webmail" icon within your Plesk control panel.
Q. None of my cgi scripts are working on the server. How do I get them to work? A. Make sure that they are chmoded to 755 and located in the default cgi-bin directory. Otherwise, they should work. Q. How do I create databases and manage them? A. Login to your Plesk control panel and click on the "Databases" icon. After your database is created and you create a database user, you can manage the database from within your Plesk control panel by clicking on the "DB WebAdmin" icon.

How do I purchase a private ssl from you and what type is it? A. There is a rather cumbersome procedure to follow that is required to purchase and install a private ssl certificate. Please email us in this regard. Q. What is the path to the free shared ssl? A. We must setup and activate the shared ssl on each domain manually. Q. I'm going to purchase my own ssl. What do I need to know? A. Our servers are Apache + Mod SSL. If you require assistance from us to install your ssl, there will be an installation fee. Q. How do I transfer a ssl? A. Every company that sells ssl has a different transfer procedure. You will need to ask the supplier where you purchased the ssl certificate. |
